a time to be born and a time to die;
a time to plant and a time to pluck up what is planted;
3 a time to kill and a time to heal;
a time to break down and a time to build up;
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn and a time to dance;
5 a time to throw away stones and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing;
6 a time to seek and a time to lose;
a time to keep and a time to throw away;
7 a time to tear and a time to sew;
a time to keep silent and a time to speak;
8 a time to love and a time to hate;
a time for war and a time for peace.

So very true. But it isn't always easy to acknowledge when a "season" has ended (like the closure of a college or chapel) I hope that as we grow and mature we learn to accept the turning of the seasons. That things change and life moves on to a new stage. And we can trust our faithful, unchanging God to be always with us.
ReplyDeleteI'm learning to see the good in every season. The closure of a college or chapel is painful but God is always with us. The chapter goes on to remind us that God has made everything beautiful in its time. Hugs to you.
DeleteThe verse I chose for my Mother’s funeral service, and I also like the song “Turn, turn, turn” which is beautiful rendition of the words set to music. Catriona
ReplyDeleteI've often used it at funerals, especially for country people.
DeleteThere is definitely a time for every season. I think I just might be entering a season of slowing down. Winter will be here soon and I will be able to relax and recharge.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Yes, I want to appreciate every season for itself and not spend my time wishing I was in a different season.
DeleteI like the sentiment of there being a season and a time for everything. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's so true!
