Bobo is going home

Long time readers of this blog may remember Bobo the Bear.  He usually lives with my friend Alice but for nearly a year he has been staying with me.

Bobo before
I first introduced him to you back in July.     He was in a very sorry state.  The trouble was that he had been loved too much and as a result his face had been loved flat and his eyes, mouth and most of his nose had disappeared.  One arm was falling off, one foot had disappeared and the other was in a precarious state.  The loving had been a little inconsistent as at some time someone had chopped off his head and it had been very crudely reattached using blue thread.
Bobo now

Over the last few months I have, with great difficulty, made him clothes (click on the Bobo label on the side bar and your will find the complications involved) and have given him a prosthetic foot.

Tomorrow I am visiting Alice and will be taking Bobo back home.

Bobo

What I think of as my home, Bobo thinks is a hospital.

Bobo normally lives with my friend Alice and she’s had him since she was a baby and as Alice is a mere five weeks older than me I’m not going to tell you when that was!  He was originally a very smart bear (I think!) but as is the way with bears, he has been loved too much.  His eyes and mouth and most of his nose have disappeared.  His face, once shaped and slightly pointed, has been loved flat.  His hands and feet are in what must be a very uncomfortable state and one arm is more or less falling off at the shoulder.

I say he has been loved too much but the love seems to have been rather inconsistent as at some stage someone chopped his head off and the rather crude reattachment has been covered with a ribbon.  All in all, Bobo is now in a sorry state and he’s had to come for a little help.

And now I have a dilemma.  How much should I do?  At the moment I’m knitting a smart red sweater for him and I’ve got a pattern to make him some dungarees.  I’ve found a pattern for knitted “sports” shoes for a baby so I shall try those, but how much more should I do?  I’ve got stuffing and teddy bear eyes and I had thought I would renovate and re-stuff his head but would he still be Bobo if I do that?  I’m not sure.  What would you do?
