Just 78 days to go. Sorry about that.
I need a little help. I want to make a Christmas stocking for a man in his forties who will be spending Christmas on his own. A solitary Christmas is his choice just for this year, but I want to make sure he still has a Christmas. I always spend Christmas Day alone - again my choice - and I appreciate the stocking a friend makes for me.
My problem is, what can I put in a stocking for him? I'm looking for items below £10 in value. I've got ideas for jokey things but when I try and think beyond socks, a demister pad (for the car) and a mug, I'm stumped.
So, any ideas, please. I need this one ready by the end of November.
Maybe a £10 grocery voucher, M/S or Tesco? Fruit, chocolate, shaving balm, pack of tissues....
ReplyDeleteminiature whisky , chocolate orange , bag of nuts, chocolate spanner
ReplyDeletescratch card, tube of sweets, a satsuma in the toe of course, mini shower gel or similar, a magazine if you know what he likes, packet of seeds (if he's a gardener), paperback book if the stocking is big enough - puzzles, kitchen items, if you have a Flying Tiger near you they are often brilliant for stocking fillers. I think it's better to have lots of little parcels to unwrap, even if each item is quite small. What a lovely idea, it will make a big difference to have that on Christmas Day I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteTesco will be having chocolate oranges on offer for 75p on the 10th October
ReplyDeleteFood...homemade Christmas cookies, fudge, a BOOK!
ReplyDeleteSuch a generous and thoughtful idea.
ReplyDeleteIt's so hard to think of small gifts for men, isn't it? I see there's lots of ideas in the comments above but what about a puzzle book, pen, gloves, hat, dvd, keyring, hot chocolate sachets, mini bottle of wine.
ReplyDeletePeople have come up with some excellent suggestions! I shall quite shamelessly borrow some of these ideas, so thank you everyone.
