There's a surprise!

The weather forecast mentioned the possibility of snow but I didn't believe it.  But it happened.  The first snow of the season.

And I love looking at it.  Just looking at it.  I don't want to go out in it.

I can look at it from my cosy house.  I'm well dressed.  I have eaten a hot breakfast.  Lunch will be cooked and I have vast quantities of soup ready in my freezer.

I've got a huge credit on my energy account so putting the heating on doesn't worry me.  My hibernaculum is cosy.

I shall spend the afternoon getting a batch of scarves fringed and ready to go for the benefit of others not so lucky.

Snow seemed a lovely surprise for me.  It isn't so for others.

(I wrote this post yesterday but my problems with Blogger continue.)

  1. Pleased to hear you are all snuggled up and well prepared for winter. Here in Perth we have already had a few days in the low 30'sC but today is only 29C but a bit muggy as there is some rain around, not much but enough to make it a bit humid.
I love air conditioning and have it on low today so we can be comfortable while we watch the start of the Ashes on TV which is being played here in Perth. Keep up the good work with the scarves. From Shirley.

    1. Thanks, Shirley. I knit scarves all year but don't like doing the fringes. It's frosty again today.

    1. I may have a look but my scarf knitting is my "pick it up and put it down" project on circular needles. I think I just have to make myself do the fringes.

    2. But I'd be interested to see your efforts!

  3. Your blog looks fine to me! No snow in Suffolk I'm pleased to say.
I can never get writing beside a photo but I think that's because of my blog theme, as it's not a very wide space for the writing bit

  4. No snow down south, but it is very cold, we too are staying in keeping warm.
