Information needed, please!

I've had my regular mediaction delivered for yonks.  I just order on line from the GP who authorises it and sends the script, also on line, to my chosen pharcmay which for many years has been the Co-op.  Until recently I was very happy with the service but it has been reorganised and I am now distinctly unhappy.  It takes over a week to be delivered and they don't tell me when they can't supply something.  At the moment beither of those is a major problem as I am well organised to cope, but there may come a time when I won't be as able.

I've had a flier from Royal Mail offering a similar service and I wondered of any of my readers use it.  If you do, or if you have done, could you comment below as to what the service is like.  I would be very grateful!

  1. Both hubby and I use Hey, formally Co-op, I have not had any problems, but my medication is simple, hubby has had problems, but he often messages them and things then getting moving, he is organized and the doctors allowed him one time to order repeats earlier, so now they have more time to get them to him. Maybe ask your doctor if next time you can order a couple of weeks earlier so meds get to you on time.

    1. Maybe the co-op is better in your area but I'm not happy. I am very concerned that if my own health deteriorates I won't be able to do the chasing and phoning I have to do almost every time.

  2. I have always had to wait for up to a week for delivery from my local chemist but alway had 2 weeks medication in hand. I always use the local chemist aas otherwise they may have to close then I would not to use them in emergency, which I did last week, with a phone call my new prescription was delivered in an hour by the pharmacist.

  5. We are able walk round the corner to our GPS to collect meds, but the majority of my neighbours use the excellent delivery service provided by the surgery. Plus the practice manager lives right across the road from us - so when Bob's tablets came in late, she actually dropped them off in her lunch hour when she came home to feed her dogs! I hope you find a good solution soon (otherwise, I can only suggest that you move to our village!)

    1. At my previous house I could get my meds direct from the surgery but that option isn't available to me here. Boo Hoo!

  6. I get mine through the chemist and it's been fine. Husband had to give up on it though because they kept getting it wrong so now he phones the GP, collects, takes to chemist and waits. Admittedly he does have lots of medication that all runs out at different times!

  7. If you Google 'pharmacies who deliver near me' it comes up with a number of companies, eg Lloyds, Boots etc, who will deliver to you. It explains how they get your prescription and work with your Dr.

    1. Thank you. I think I'm going to give Pharmacy2U a try for starters. The Co-op used to be excellent but alas no more.

  9. See from your reply above that you're not doing so well. Sorry to hear and thought that may be the case since it's been weeks since you published. Praying that what ever ails you will abate and you recover your strength.
