Merry New Boxing Day

The day for going for a walk, or having a lie-in, for starting on the leftovers, or a eating the meal which you always have on Boxing Day, for regretting yesterday's excess or starting to plan New Year's Eve, for playing with new acquisitions or finding places to hide them.

I've enjoyed Advent.  I start my Christmas preparations very early so that December is free for me to enjoy Advent for its own sake.

And I've finished my personal Advent alphabet.  Here's a reminder.

  1. I really enjoyed reading your Advent Alphabet. We don't celebrate Boxing Day over here. Some people get the day off, but, others have to work, unless they are able to take vacation time off.

    1. Boxing Day is valued here. I'm having my Christmas dinner today - yesterday I went to church and then enjoyed a quiet reflective day.

  2. I worked for a head teacher who cleared the house of Christmas every Boxing Day. She was a bit of a perfectionist. I expect she's not the only one...

    1. I had a friend who wouldn't put up a single decoration before Christmas Eve. Good job he wasn't married to her!

    2. I'd hate to clear everything on Boxing Day - that would make the decorations into Advent decorations!

  3. Long, long journey home today, and visitors tomorrow. Spinning out my celebrations this year! Thanks for the great Alphabet posts, I've really enjoyed them. Perhaps you should end the year with punctuation posts. ? ! () ...

  4. Glorious weather here today but husband has a nasty cold so don’t think we’ll be going out. I’m catching up on some ironing whilst listening to Christmas music and planning what craft activities I may want to do next year. Thank you for your Advent Alphabet-I loved reading your post each day. Catriona
