It's years since I went to a birthday party but two came along almost at once.
When I was a child it seemed to take forever for a year to pass and I could proudly say, "I'm seven" instead of "I'm six". These days a decade seems to take about as long as a year took in my childhood. I think it's great to have a special celebration every ten years on the day when we once again get a zero as the final digit of our age.
For the years seem to pass so quickly now. Each day is savoured even though it flashes by.
Annual birthday parties would come around far too often!
I have an 0 on the end of my birthday this year, so maybe a little party would be good.
ReplyDeleteIndubitably! I've always been determined to enjoy every decade and so far each has been even better than the previous one so a party is definitely in order. Go for it, girl!
DeleteI'll be a decade older later this year, myself. No party, though, but, perhaps a quiet celebration with my daughter. :)
ReplyDeleteHarvey turned 75 in July and I turn 70 in December. Not big on celebrations here especially as my birthday is just a few days after Christmas. Perhaps we will try and get out for a supper with the boys when they are home.
