May! A lovely month and it's hardly started! What can I do with May?
The big event will be my holiday. I'm going to Poole to collect a friend and then we're going to have a few days in Cornwall. I shall then take her to a railway station and have a few days in my own before driving home. And while I'm in Poole I'm meeting someone whose blog I have been following for a long time!
Unfortunately Jack isn't well enough to help me in the garden this year. His knees are showing rather a lot of signs of wear and tear so any time now he should be having a knee replacement. op. I shall try an visit him but that will have to wait until after my holiday. I think I've got someone organised to blitz the garden and then I shall do as much as I can myself and gratefully accept any offers of help. It could be that I am in for an interesting year on that one!
The kitchen is due to be decorated this month and I'm looking forward to having everything in there completed.
I have a feeling that I shall be getting very bored with politicians telling us how wonderful they are. Local elections this week, general elections early next month. Oh dear.
And there will be days out at Normanby, lunches with friends, lazy afternoons on the garden swing.
Bring it on!
Sounds idyllic, but so sorry to hear about Jack hope all goes well with his operation. Have a great break away.
ReplyDeleteJack may be able to read this blog (I'm not sure) so if he can he will read your good wishes.
DeleteI do hope you have a lovely holiday and that our Cornish weather doesn't let you down. I'm sorry we are unable to meet this time.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry too! I shall have an old friend with me this time and I think we shall enjoy the holiday whatever the weather.
DeleteI am so sorry for Jack's knees -- I feel his pain, literally. I am, however, looking forward to hearing about and seeing photos of your holiday. If I ever make my way across the great pond again I would love to visit Cornwall. Watching too much Doc Martin, I guess! Bored with politicians? Indeed! I understand completely. I do hope you will post photos of the kitchen re-do as well.
ReplyDeleteI shall do my best to take photos but as you may have noticed, I'm no photographer!
ReplyDeleteI too will hope for good weather for your holiday in Cornwall; when are you coming and if you're interested in a meet-up for coffee and cake, either with your friend or after she has left, I'd love to actually see you in person, depending on where you will be based. Tell Jack not to worry about his replacement knee operation; I had mine done in December and was driving again in the time specified. I didn't have a general anaesthetic, instead I opted for the spinal injection - brilliant! The pain when walking was gone! And gradually my walks got longer and my confidence in my new stainless steel knee quickly improved. So glad I had it done. I wish him all the very best for his operation.
ReplyDeleteI've e mailed you!
